Jazz Cabaret at Piano Smithfield – Concert no: 3

It’s a welcome appearance at Piano Smithfield by the outstanding vocal favourite, the effervescent and ebullient entertainer Tina May.

Award winner extraordinary, singing in English and French , Tina shines a new light and offers a distinctive perspective not only on well established vocal favourites, but also introduces audiences to wonderful, less familiar songs.

Tina’s ability to bend the notes, coupled with distinctive original phrasing and improvisations, ensures her concerts never cease to surprise and amaze

For this Piano Smithfield concert Tina takes on a vocal journey starting from Berlin with the music of Kurt Weill ( Mack The Knife: September Song: Speak Low) and Marlena Dietrich (Surabaya Johnny: Falling In Love Again) then on to Paris to the music of Edith Piaf (Non,Je Regrette Rien, La Vie En Rose) before arriving in New York with the music of Cole Porter (Love For Sale) and George Gershwin (Lady Be Good),and many more songs.

Joining Tina on stage are jazz greats Robin Aspland – piano and British Jazz Awards nominee Simon Thorpe – double bass

You will spring off after the concert with joy in your heart and a face full of smiles.

Across five consecutive Wednesdays, from October 13th to November 10th, hosted by top singer songwriter and broadcaster James Sayer, JBGB Events bring you James Hudson, Liane Carroll, Tina May, Chris Ingham and Joanna Eden.

We launch Jazz Cabaret at Piano Smithfield for what we hope, with your encouragement and support, will be a successful, long lasting new venue.
