The Root Source signed to über hip Freestyle Records after being heralded by Snowboy and featured on the’True Hi-Hat Jazz Dance’ compilation LP on Ocho Records. Since releasing a further two LPs and being championed by Nicola Conte, Dr Lonnie Smith, Phil Levene and Gilles Peterson, the band have gained a devoted and eclectic audience worldwide. Andy Fairclough on Hammond Organ leads the group featuring some of the finest players on the scene. Watch out for features including exotic delights such as conch shells, train whistles, bird calls and waterphones!
