The JAZZ VERSE JUKEBOX presents a spoken word & music ‘Love Edition’, Upstairs @ Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club on Sunday 14th February 2016.  Special guests include: Jasmine Cooray  – “‘Hers is a voice worth reading, and treasuring, and seeking out, one that gets under your skin like an itch..” ; Grim Chip – “Pugnacious poet with a penchant for the political”,  Caleb Femi -“Changing the world, one rhyme at a time” With music from‘” Frater & Taylor -“deliver a strong, resourceful combination of sounds & atmospheres.” and music from Bird Radio – “unique and eccentric creative force reimagining sound and text” plus actress Annette Badlands (Eastenders, The Archers) reads love poems from Sappho to Carol Ann Duffy.

Since its inception in 2009, the Jazz Verse Jukebox, (the brainchild of broadcaster & Vocalist Jumoké Fashola), has welcomed established poets & musicians such as Lemn Sissay, Soweto Kinch, Michael Horovitz, David Grant & Anthony Joseph.  Join us on Sunday 13th December for what promises to be a thrilling night of diverse spoken word & jazz from some of the freshest exponents on the scene. Plus live jazz trio & Open Mic.  With cushions to lounge on, cocktails to imbibe & surprises, this diverse night is one night not to miss!
