Ray Russell is one of the unsung heroes of British guitar, playing on David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”, Tina Turner’s “Private Dancer” and numerous other tracks with artists as diverse as Freddie Mercury, Gil Evans and Andy Williams in a career going strong for 50 years. You will also have heard some of his vast array of award-winning soundtrack compositions, which include the theme tunes to “Bergerac” and “A Touch of Frost”. He’s an extraordinary fusion guitarist and for this gig he’s joined up with his frequent collaborator, bassist Mo Foster (Eric Clapton, Sting, Jeff Beck, Phil Collins), along with Chris Biscoe, sax; Malcolm Edmonstone, piano & Nic France, drums.
