We are pleased to welcome Rachel back to the Chandos for another night of classic torch songs and standards.
Rachel Sutton has worked as both an actress and singer. Her rich tone and unerring sense of swing coupled with her background in theatre makes her an engaging interpreter of both classic jazz and more contemporary repertoire. She recently featured in a highly-acclaimed presentation, at London’s Cadogan Hall, of Roland Perrin’s choral work Lansky: The Mob’s Money Man.
Rachel’s songbook covers a huge range from soulful ballads to great torch songs of the jazz canon. Rachel is one of the most sensitive and intelligent interpreters of a lyric on the scene – this is another great Chandos Arms evening not to be missed.
“Rachel has a powerful soulful voice and great delivery” John Etheridge
“Rachel Sutton’s soaring vocals pack a power and perception which belie her years… catch her if you can.” Jazz Journal
with Roland Perrin: MD/piano • Paul Cavaciutti: drums • Jeremy Shoham: sax • Neville Malcolm: bass
