The stellar line up includes John Russell, John Edwards, Kitty la Roar and Nick Shankland, Gg and her band including Kenny Wheeler and David Baptiste, Sarah Vaughan jazz vocalist winner 2016 Deelee Dube, Marco Marconi, Lars Fiils, Tom Harrison, Colin Webster, Simon Lasky, Carmela Rappazzo from New Orleans ad Mike Adcock and Paul Jolly. Plus many more who will join our musicians on stage including Kenny Wheeler, Ed Jones and David Baptiste. A combination of musicians to make your heart sing.

Kitty la Roar and Nick Shankland have played across the world and have successful albums and EPs to their name, widely known for their flamboyant and mesmeric playing and vocals. At this event they will be joined by acoustic bass and the sax playing talent of Mr Ed Jones.

Gg has just released her second album and is a lyricist and storyteller in song par excellence. Her EP, CD and vinyl releases have recieved great reviews and she brings with her a superb band. Deelee Dubee is a Sarah Vaughan Vocals prize winner and a regular at Ronnie’s and many other venues in London.

Marco Marconi plays across Europe and the UK. He has released several highly acclaimed CDs and is one of the UK’s best kept piano secrets – until recently that is when the influential 33Jazz label released his first CD ‘Nordik’ and his second Trialogue is out, both recieving amazing reviews across the board. Marco gigs regularly and is a popular musician on the jazz circuit. We are thrilled he is playing at the London Jazz Platform.

Lars Fiil is from Copenhagen and here he brings his individual style across the water to the UK especially for this event. His music has been critically acclaimed and he is a powerful force in free playing jazz music. His albums recieve wide acclaim andhe is known as one of the most innovative improvisers. Here he appears with sax and drums.

Colin Webster needs little introduction to those familiar with the London music scene. His powerful and enigmatic playing has been centre piece at many gigs and he has recorded extensively. Here he brings an individual performance to the Jazz Platform and we are absolutely thrilled to have him here at the event. He will be joined by a drummer for this performance.

Tom Harrison is a major force in jazz music, playing at Ronnie Scott’s and selling out many venues. Adventurous, highly individual and charismatic, he has played with many jazz luminaries and made his own mark as a solo player or with his quintet. His album ‘Unfolding in Tempo’ recieved rave reviewes on several major platforms. It is a huge pleasure to have Tom play at this event.

John Russell has played with just about every jazz name you can think of. He is known across the jazz scene for his improvisation, free playing and enormous respect and dexterity for the guitar as well as his support for up an coming musicians. Very well known at venues like Cafe Oto, The Vortex and one of the key instigators of the famous Mopomoso events, we welcome John to Jazz Platform as a respected and much appreciated musician.

John Edwards needs no introduction to music fans. Jazz, rock, progressive, improvised, John is definitely one of the ‘go to’ bassists in the UK and we are extremely pleased to have him play today at Jazz Platform. He brings a new way of looking at double bass playing.

Simon Lasky is a talented piano player whose debut album received very exciting reviews. He plays with his group or as a solo artist and jazz Platform is pleased he able to bring his brilliance to the event. At this event he is playing with his group – the Simon Lasky Group.

Paul Jolly is well known on the jazz circuit both as a player – he is part of the glorious People Band – and as record producer for 33Jazz Records. His playing is stupendous and here he teams up with collaborator over many years Mike Adcock. We are delighted Paul has come in on this event.

All of these musicians are busy working and recording musicians and they may play as individuals or introduce other musicians playing with them at the event. Part of the interest and excitement of an event like this is it allows a certain freedom of expression perhaps not found elsewhere and there will be surprises on the day. The day promises to be interesting, entertaining and packed full of incredible music played by incredible musicians. Whether you are familiar with jazz or new to it, this event will be an amazing experience and we are delighted so many influential musicians have taken time to come and play at what promises to be an enthralling event..

Money is being raised on the day for Cancer Research.

There will be merchandise on sale plus some surprises in store.
