Since the release of breakout debut album Salt in 2003, Wright has acted as a steward of American music. She uses the power of her ‘smooth, dark alto possessed of qualities you might associate with barrel-aged bourbon or butter-soft leather’ (New York Times) as a soaring reflection of the country’s cultural fabric.

The Georgia-born singer has released six critically acclaimed albums to date. The latest, Grace, honours her birthplace, revealing the roots of story and song that bind together the diverse traditions at the heart of the American South. The album features Wright’s unforgettable interpretations of music by artists including Ray Charles, Nina Simone and Bob Dylan.
