Event Details

It’s just not Christmas without a fix of BOND – expect some classy new jazz arrangements as iconic Bond themes are given a new twist by a stellar line up led by Hideaway Musical Director Janette Mason with the sublime vocals of David McAlmont and Janine Johnson.

David McAlmont (vocal)
Possibly one of the greatest singers this country has ever produced, having collaborated with everyone from Bond composer David Arnold to Michael Nyman, Paul Weller and most famously with Bernard Butler producing the classic hit single Yes. McAlmont’s music is pure emotion, drawing unique, soulful portraits from his own life and philosophies, all beautifully framed by the finest soul.

Janine Johnson (Vocal)
As well as being a rising solo artist on the Jazz/Soul music scene, Janine is a lead vocalist with the Westcoast Soulstars and Urban Voices Collective. Her collaborations include: Ian Shaw, Paloma Faith, Bobby McFerrin, Cool Million, Take That, George Michael, Ray Davies, The Who, Kaiser Chiefs, Sarah Jane Morris, David Arnold and the list continues.

Janine has played a number of roles in Theatre and TV, the most recent being; The Harder They Come, Blues Brothers and Midnight Beast (E4). She is also a singer/songwriter with her own band with which she has one Album; Strength, Wisdom and Growth, a freshly released EP called Passion with the second album released in January 2015. Seductive, Soulful, Smouldering….. Janine Johnson’s stunning new EP ‘Passion’ is a collection of classy and thought provoking tracks that convey a universal message of love, passion and loss.

Janette Mason (keys)
Even without knowing it, there’s a fair chance if you’ll have heard Janette’s special musical touch time and again – on many albums from Ian Shaw to Robert Wyatt, live in concert with Oasis plus her contributions to movie and TV soundtracks.

A talented composer and arranger, she was recently commissioned to write the score for feature film, The Calling, contributed four arrangements to Ian Shaw’s album, Drawn to all Things, and produced and arranged Lea DeLaria’s current Warner Brothers release, The Live Smoke Sessions, which made the Grammy ballot.
