Event Details

Another coup for Chandos Arms Jazz as we welcome woodwind master Pete Long to the club. Pete is best known for leading his world-acclaimed big band Echoes of Ellington, but his arranging and performing expertise has been demanded by the likes of Joss Stone, Will Young, Dionne Warwick and many others.

Whilst working as a member of Jools Holland’s R&B Orchestra, Pete performed with Tom Jones, Norah Jones, Dr John, Lionel Richie and produced arrangements for John Cale, Texas, Sir Paul McCartney, Candi Staton, Marti Pellow and Chrissy Hynde.
He played with sax quartet Itchy Fingers for three years, working with Dizzy Gillespie, John Scofield and Chick Corea during that time, and he’s been an in-demand clarinettist in London’s West End musicals.
This prodigious talent is enlivened by Pete’s notorious sense of humour, and this is sure to be an entertaining and engaging night of music.
with JUST EAST: Neil Angilley: piano • Jeremy Shoham: sax • Phil Scragg: bass • Rick Finlay: drums
