DaPaul is a highly talented singer/songwriter and musician who has always had a passion for performing, even from an early age. His roots go back to his time in a Caribbean church in London where he found and nurtured his love for playing the piano and singing choral hymns and Caribbean folk spirituals. DaPaul’s powerful sense of musicality has embraced a host of influences from jazz and gospel to soul, blues and pop, whilst his song writing talents have been honed over the years by listening to the music of the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Curtis Mayfield and Prince. His formative years in the music industry began in the mid 90’s as a much sought after session musician and backing vocalist to artists such as Alexandra O’Neal, Des’ree, Gabrielle and Eternal, with appearances at the World Music Awards, Montreux Jazz Festival and on the Jools Holland Show.
