The Sound Of 1947 on The Sunday Lunch Session (2.30pm) The dynamic trio specialise in the swing era of the late forties and early be-bop made popular in Britain by the Ray Ellington Quartet who in turn were influenced by the Nat King Cole Trio and the Jump Blues of Slim Gaillard. Using lovingly restored original instruments from the 1940’s, the Bevan Boys provide a rare, truly authentic insight into the all-but-forgotten era of popular British music covering the story of jazz and early rock n’ roll in the UK. Together with their musically intelligent arrangements of the American Songbook and other popular period hits, the sheer joy and effortless performance from the Bevin Boys make this a show to catch.
